Skilled Work Regional (Provisional)

A provisional visa for skilled workers nominated by a State or Territory government agency to live and work in regional Australia.

This visa includes regional residence conditions and generally restricts applications for most other permanent visas during the first 3 years.

Key requirements: - Be under 45 at invitation. - Hold a suitable and valid skills assessment for the nominated occupation. - Show at least 'Competent English' at invitation stage. - Reach at least 65 points, including nomination points. - Receive state or territory nomination and SkillSelect invitation. - Meet health, character, and public-interest requirements.

You must be under 45 at invitation, hold a suitable skills assessment for your nominated occupation, and demonstrate at least 'Competent English'. You need a minimum of 65 points, and state/territory nomination contributes 15 points. Health and character checks apply to primary and family members.

1. Confirm occupation and skills assessment eligibility. 2. Prepare English test and points evidence. 3. Submit EOI in SkillSelect and pursue nomination. 4. Lodge within 60 days after invitation via ImmiAccount. 5. Complete health and character checks as requested.

Processing is case-by-case and depends on completeness and response speed. Base application charge starts from AUD 4,770 for the main applicant, with additional applicant charges and potential second instalment for adults without functional English.

You can live, work, and study in designated regional areas and travel in and out of Australia while the visa is valid. You must not live, work, or study in non-regional metropolitan areas and must notify address/contact changes as required.

You can include partner and dependent children. Family members must meet health and character requirements, including some non-migrating family members. Functional English may be required for adult dependants to avoid second instalment charges.
